CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT (CPA)

The Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board was established by the Government of Kenya on 24 July 1969. The examinations of the Board are recognized world-wide and are comparable to similar professional examinations in the world.

EXAMINATION

The CPA exams are held twice a year in June and December and it is divided into three parts and each comprising of two sections.


Following are the subjects to be attended in the first part:CPA Part 1
Section 1

Paper No.
1. Financial Accounting 1
2. Law 1
3. Economics
Section 2
4. Taxation 1
5. Cost Accounting
6. Auditing
NSPSI will offer CPA part 1 on full time Basis over six months.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

A person seeking to be registered as a student for CPA must show evidence of being a holder of one of the following qualifications:
a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination with an aggregate average
of at least grade C plus (C+) including English and Mathematics.
b) Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least TWO Principal passes
provided that the applicant has credits in Mathematics and and English
at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCSE) level.
c) Kenya Accounting Technicians Certificate (KATC) Examination.
d) Kenya Administration and Management Examination (KAME).
e) Accounts Clerk National Certificate (ACNC).
f ) A degree from a recognized university.

MODE OF STUDY

The course will be offered on full time basis from
8.30am -5.00pm Monday to Friday
Twice a year (January and July) One elective subject (non examinable),Moral and Ethical Education including recreational (sports) will be provided during the course.

Caution money KShs. 1,000(Refundable)
Library fee KShs. 500
Student card KShs. 500
Tuition Fee
KShs. 20,000 per term in lump sum or in
two installments as follows:
Payable on the first day KShs. 11,000
Payable on the 2nd month KShs. 10,000

NSPSI REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Completed Registration Form
2 Passport size photographs
Photocopy of National identity card Registration fees, etc
Tuition fees
